Strangely Dim

Last Sunday I attended church in Piedmont, Al where Darryl's family lives. It is always amazing to me how how there is always at least one thing that really speaks to me during church service. I try to always go with great expectations and I am never disappointed. After a week I don't remember what the message was about but I certainly remember the message God had prepared for me because I have thought about it all week. I believe it was the piano music while the offering was being collected. It was a simple tune but it really got me to thinking. I have heard it many times times but this time I actually focused on the words. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus." Actually, stop what you are doing, and turn means you must look for Him. "Look full in His wonderful face." Where do you best see His face? Outside, in your children, in the Bible, when you close your eyes? And when you see Him... "And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace." Things of this earth would be...circumstances, good, bad and indifferent. It doesn't matter. All circumstance goes away. I am guessing this is how Moses felt when God hid him in the clift of the rock and revealed His glory to him. And that's it. No verses. Just a simple chorus. But wow! If we actually did this everyday, more than once a day....
