Anyone a Steve Carrel or Juliette Binoche fan? (We absolutely adore watching "The Office" on TV. Perhaps it reminds us of the ever-so-present quirky co-workers in our own offices, but I'll save that blog for another day.) Darryl rented the movie "Dan In Real Life" last weekend. He said that is was "kind-of a chick flick" but that he really liked it. He saw the first 10 minutes on an airplane. We ended up watching it 3 times over the last week. Either we have been really bored or we are just procrastinating doing taxes. Blockbuster has called us twice to return it, but it is just to good. It is Charming, Charming, Charming, and Hilarious!!! This movie is for anyone who has spent a week/weekend reuniting with umpteen close family members in the same house. Steve Carrel is so funny and Juliette is just Juliette, absolutely charming. One thing I rarely notice in a movie is the music, however this movie has an unbelievable musical score (how is that for a fancy pants comment?). We watched the special feature all about the making of the music. It is that good. It is pretty much all done by one guy and his guitar. For real. I, we highly recommend it. Barring we don't get put in the big house for movie rental theft or tax avasion, we will be seeing it again. Some of our favorite lines/scenes...."This little piggy went to market….this little piggy stayed home…..", Steve dancing...haha, "we like her so much, if you botch this up, we are keeping her and getting rid of you", "I am an accomplished maker of pancakes", "you are a murderer of love".One of the interesting conversations in movie is about your perfect day. I think I have asked this question before, but let me tell you one of the reponses given in the movie. "I would like to wake up in a country I've never been before, where I don't understand the language or the culture, and I am just completely out of my element." Have you ever been somewhere where you were completely "out of your element"? Or, on the flip side, have you been presently surprised to be somewhere that was completely "in your element"? Some would argue that the University of Alabma would be completely "out of element" for a Tennessee, no a Knoxville, Tennessee girl. However, I was presently surprised to be right "in my element" for 4 glorious years.
Word up people….go rent this movie!!

I'm kinda mad cause Dan (Steve Carrell) stole all my sweet dance moves and used them on Ruthie Pig-Face Draper...dang it
The movie sounds like it MUST be good. I will have to netflix it. I am still thinking about your question...
I'm sold! Dan in Real Life is moving to the top of my Netflix cue...and I can keep it as long as I want! :)
Regarding being out of my element, you've given me a lot to think about. I think I need to push my boundaries much more often!
Miss you guys, and love the blog!! Stacy
